We mostly will parallel the Gunpowder River upstream and later downstream from the traditional Hemlock Gorge section. The Gunpowder River portions have views of a beaver dam, remnants of the original Hoffman paper mill & other mills. We will hike fire roads, old mill roads, & single tracks where there are briars, stickers, rocks underfoot, and muddy areas. It’s a challenging medium-level hike with two half-mile hills.
