We will carpool about 25 miles south from our base at Big Meadows to this 10-mile lollipop hike in the southern section of Shenandoah National Park. We will hike on the Rocky Mount Trail and the Gap Run Trail. Trails in the southern section of SNP typically offer the hiker a more remote feel than trails in the central section. The estimated elevation gain is about 2000', and there will be several stream crossings of Gap Run.
