Note this is classed as a hard hike due to the distance alone but the elevation gain is not too bad. The elevation will be around 1000ft and is spread out across the route. There are great views across the farmland to the Massanutten ridge line and a wonderful view of the Shenandoah both during the beginning 3 miles of the hike and later in the hike as we view the wonderful horseshoe opening bend the river makes.
