One of a series of 9 Moderate Plus hikes on the Appalachian Trail across Maryland. An out and back hike of a total of 10.5 miles going south from Alternate US-40/Turners Gap to White Rock Overlook and Bear Spring Cabin. Total elevation gain is 2,000′ with the longest climb of 800′ over 1.6 miles. Pace while moving averages 2.0-2.5 miles per hour. When registering please indicate “Carpool” or “Trailhead”
