We will hike a mixture of the Mason-Dixon Trail that runs through the forest and forest roads as we explore the 3,500+ acre Elk Neck State Forest. The forest is a diverse habitat with mixed deciduous and evergreen trees and an understory of mountain laurel, azaleas, and other native shrubs. The trail is rolling and crosses some streams.
