One of a series of 9 Moderate Plus hikes on the Appalachian Trail across Maryland. An out and back hike of a total of 10.5 miles going south from Alternate US-40 to White Rock Overlook and Bear Spring Cabin. Total elevation gain is 2,000' with the longest climb of 800' over 1.6 miles. Pace averages 2.0-2.5 miles per hour.
