Starting from the Brookside Gardens Visitors Center, we will briefly stop to smell the summer roses, then take the Northwest Branch Trail along the Northwest Branch of the Anacostia River to the Fall Line Trail for lunch, returning on the Rachel Carson Greenway Trail, where she wrote Silent Spring. Elevation gain approximately 500 feet, minor stream crossings.
