Beginning at Rockburn Park we will hike to Hanging Bridge for lunch, and hike back passing Cascade Falls. Only 1 moderate stream crossing we will cross twice. Hiking poles will be helpful. No significant elevation.
An out and back hike of 12 miles going south from Wolfsville Road (MD-17) to Annapolis Rocks on the Appalachian Trail. Total elevation gain is 700′ with the longest climb of 500′ over 2.5 miles. Very rocky in places, no significant stream crossings. Pace averages 2.5 MPH.
We will hike at a leisurely pace of 2.25-2.5 miles from Rockburn Park to Patapsco Park. Take Morning Choice trail to Cascade Falls trail. Leave from trailhead across from Woodstock Inn and hike to Marriottsville Road. Cross the bridge, hike past McKeldin Falls, hike along the river, cross South Patapsco River, which is only stream crossing, return to Inn. Pace will be 2.5 mph, with lunch along the River.
