The Wilmington Trail Club (WTC) has announced the opening of registration for the 28th annual Hike Across Delaware scheduled for Saturday, November 4, 2023. This annual hike is about 15 miles in length. Hikers meet at Delaware City’s Battery Park at 8 a.m. and then are taken by bus to the start in North Chesapeake City, Maryland. Most of the hike is on the paved trail along the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal, and the terrain is relatively flat. Near the end, the hikers leave the canal and hike into Delaware City. The hike offers views of fall foliage, combined with the opportunity for a close view of boats, ships and barges using the waterway.
The fees for 2023 are $20 for WTC members and $25 for nonmembers. Online registration begins on Friday, September 1. Please note that registration fees are non-refundable, that there are no substitutions, and that registrations must be received no later than Friday, October 27 unless event capacity of 180 is reached prior to the deadline. There will be no on-site registrations.
