Hike Report: Shenandoah Hike – Feb. 28

Four hikers started from the South Hawksbill Overlook parking lot on a chilly morning. We hiked up to the overlook, then down to the North Hawksbill parking lot where we connected to the AT. We went north from there to Skyland, where we had lunch. We returned using the Limberlost and Crescent Rock Trails, where we reconnected to the AT. From there it was a climb back up to the Hawksbill Overlook, then down to our cars at the South Hawksbill parking lot. There were several fantastic views of frozen waterfalls and seeps along the route. All in all, a very pleasant journey.

Hike went well.  We hiked as far as Skyland and had lunch on the porch, out of the wind.  It never really warmed up much!  Then returned via the Limberlost and Crescent Rock trails to the AT.  Then retraced.  10.6 miles per Wayne’s phone app.
