We will hike the Gunpowder River upstream and later downstream from the traditional Hemlock Gorge section, but not the gorge itself. There will be views of beaver activity, remnants of the original Hoffman paper mill & other mills. We will hike fire roads, old mill roads, & single tracks where there are briars, stickers, rocks underfoot, & muddy areas. It’s a challenging medium-level hike with two half-mile hills.
