Hike begins at the Woodstock Inn Parking lot at 1415 Woodstock Rd, Woodstock, MD 21163. There are a few small stream crossings. The trails can be rolling and meandering. The pace will average 2.5 + mph. We will stop for a 15-20 minute lunch/snack break.
This 10 mile hike has about 1300 feet of elevation change and will be led at about 2.25-2.5 mph. Highlights include climbing up and along the top of the old Avalon dam, crossing Cascade Falls, hiking up the steep Rootball Trail, and crossing the historic swinging bridge. Hike approximately 5 miles on the red, yellow, orange and green trails in Lake Roland. You may want poles for small hills. We will meet in the parking lot for the Falls Road Light Rail Station at 2 Railroad Ave., Baltimore 21209. We'll have lunch in the pavilion at the end of the hike.
