The Patapsco Valley State Park has announced that the Grist Mill Trail will be closed after Labor Day Weekend to permanently repair the footbridges. The trail will be closed for approximately 12 months. The Grist Mill Trail from the Patterson Viaduct footbridge off of Ilchester Rd will remain open to the Buzzards Rock trail connection. Please respect the closure as it will be unsafe to walk, bike or horse ride in the construction area due to heavy equipment use and no stream crossings. The Swinging Bridge will be open for foot traffic but not to access the Grist Mill Trail. MCM hike leaders and hikers should keep this in mind in planning hikes.
