We have learned that Route MD-77, which is a main road used to access Catoctin Mountain Park, will be closed starting January 8 through May while the State of Maryland replaces sewer lines. The road will be closed from Pryor Road (A short distance west of the intersection with US-15) to the Visitor Center entrance. This will affect any club members driving to Catoctin Mountain Park to hike, The map below show in the link below shows suggested detour routes. However, note that another detour route from US-15 is to turn left on Catoctin Hollow Road (before the Manor Area entrance), follow Catoctin Hollow Road to MD-77, then turn right to drive to the Visitor Center.

This detour will also affect HAM participants driving to Camp Round Meadow in May. We will include updated route recommendations in the HAM instructions package.
