The High Rock area is a chronic problem spot because there is a popular county park adjacent to the Appalachian Trail and it’s easily accessible by car with no ranger presence. We will clean up graffiti, pick up litter and do basic trail maintenance on the AT in the area of High Rock Park near PenMar. We will split into small groups to work on a variety of problem spots.
Expect about 4 hours of light-to-moderate labor within 1/2 mile of the trail head. Bring work clothes, gloves, adequate footwear for rocky trails, lunch, water, bug repellent. We will provide tools. Schedule is 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. You can leave anytime.
