MCM has added a new page on the club’s web site with information for its Appalachian Trail volunteers. This page provides links to forms and materials that the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and the National Park Service require be made available by Trail clubs: our Emergency Response Plan for trail volunteers; our recommended Check-in/Check-Out Policy for volunteers to use to make sure that someone knows their location while they perform Trail work; safety and training information on the ATC web site; and our Local Management Plan that describes MCM’s A.T. policies and practices.
To view this page, go to the MCM web site, click on Get Involved, then click on Appalachian Trail Maintenance. At the bottom of that page, click on the link at the end of the following sentence, “For more information about the Mountain Club of Maryland’s A.T. volunteer work, click here.”
Or you can go directly to this page using the following link: Information for Appalachian Trail Volunteers – Mountain Club of Maryland (mcomd.org).
MCM urges all our Trail volunteers to visit this page, review the materials, and contact MCM leadership if you have any questions.
